We contacted Standard Heritage to see if they would be able to carry out a survey on my parents +200 year old house prior to us buying it. Michael replied promptly with a competitive price and we agreed a date. His enthusiasm and passion for historic buildings was apparent during the survey and he spent a long time thoroughly assessing the property. The report which followed read very differently to a standard house buying survey which, in my opinion, usually read as a long list of negatives! Michael pointed out the buildings positive points as well as picking up areas that required attention. He then provided very useful guidance on how to rectify the identified areas as well as a guide as to when they would be needed e.g. immediate, within 5 years, long term etc. Even since receiving the report, we’ve been in contact with Michael again and he has been able to put us in touch with various craftsmen and provide additional information. In summary, we couldn’t be happier we found Standard Heritage and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for guidance on an old building.
